Due to working with children and adults with learning difficulties I’ve become very interested in psychotherapy and how local governments and social services accommodate the skillsets of art psychotherapists.
I was very happy to meet practicing artist and art psychotherapist Carol Phillips who was happy to share her views on the subject.
We are all influenced by the company we keep so it pleases me to be constantly inspired by extremely talented, very professional and ambitious visual artists, musicians and authors. Feel free to subscribe to my blog and see some of the people who provide me with a lot of inspiration
This September I’m fortunate to be involved in two worthwhile initiatives on each side of the Atlantic. “Untold Gold’ is a two week event in London showcasing the amazing breadth, quality and originality of black creativity from around the world. The event forms part of London’s Design Festival showcasing the city’s pivotal role in global design. The African & African- Caribbean Design Diaspora (AACDD) places the outstandingly beautiful and original work of more than 150 creative professionals from the UK, mainland Europe, Africa and the Caribbean within the unique backdrop and raw space of Bargehouse, on London’s South Bank.
This is the latest in the ’ Paintings in the Making ’ series documenting the artist David Emmanuel Noel painting in front of the camera. This video showcases one of a number of paintings produced during the summer of 2012 and features the track ‘Shine’ performed by the talented British singer Lifford Shillingford, widely recognised for his lead vocals on Artful Dodger’s dance hit ’ Please Don’t Turn Me On.’
I include the link to a recent interview conducted by American art collector, journalist and broadcaster Michael K Corbin. Michael is the author of ‘Art For The People: A Collector’s Journal’ which won the 2012 Pinnacle Book Achievement Award. He writes for a number of magazines including Absolutearts and Artbookguy. He took time to ask me a few questions about me, art and the industry.
